Music composer and performer Bappi Lahiri who was the pioneer of disco music in India during the 1980s and 90s passed away in Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai today. He was 69.

“Lahiri was admitted in the hospital for a month before being discharged on Monday. His health started to deteriorate on Tuesday, and his family contacted an appointment with a doctor at their home. The doctor was able to take him into the hospital. He was diagnosed with multiple health problems. He passed away from OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) just before midnight.” Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital informed PTI.
