Borgata Delays Reopening in Atlantic City • This Week in Gambling

Despite previous announcements to welcome guests back on July 6th, the Borgata is delaying the reopening of its property indefinitely.

Their decision stems from the decision by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to postpone indoor resumption and ban drinking and smoking from Atlantic City casinos.

MGM Resorts International’s luxury resort and casino were originally scheduled to reopen to the general public on Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m. Before the reopening, an event should only take place by invitation.

However, on Monday afternoon, the property made a statement that the reopening of the Borgata would be delayed due to the new order of the governor.
